ALBANY – Vincent C. Trimarchi, 94, died on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at the Teresian House in Albany.
Born and educated in Albany, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Helen (DeStefano) Trimarchi. He was a resident of Colonie for over 30 years and had previously lived in Rotterdam for 15 years and more recently Kingsway Community in Schenectady and the Teresian House.
Mr. Trimarchi held degrees in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Michigan and R.P.I. Mr. Trimarchi was employed by GE Co. for 30 years as a Nuclear Reactor Design Engineer at Knolls Atomic Power Lab retiring in 1980. Previously he was an Aeronautical Design Engineer for Curtiss Airplane Co. and Bell Aircraft Co. in Buffalo, NY. He was also an instructor in the Department of Aeronautics at R.P.I., an Aircraft Design Engineer with the Navy Bureau of Aeronautics and Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, DC. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Schenectady.
Mr. Trimarchi is the husband of Mary Ann (Coletta) Trimarchi; father of Diane Basil and her husband Gabriel of Schenectady, and Charles Trimarchi and his wife Barbara of Colonie; grandfather of five grandsons and nine great-grandchildren. He is the brother of Mary DeRossi of Albany and Rose Salvo and her husband Louis of Colonie. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Dr. Francis DeRossi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Infant of Prague Chapel at the Teresian House. A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Teresian House prior to the Mass and calling hours will also be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Colonie) Interment St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
