Vincent M. Carcia, 76, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Born on December 21, 1947 in Albany, he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Mabel (Westedt) Carcia.
Vincent was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School in 1966. He received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from R.I.T in 1971, and his Master’s in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University in 1982. He proudly served in the United States Army for 27 years, gaining rank as Lieutenant Colonel before retiring in 1999. During those years, he served in many capacities, and received a number of commendations.
In addition to his parents, Vincent was predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Rose Ann (Thompson) Carcia, in 2021.
He is survived by his siblings, Helen Schnitzer (Peter), Mabel Maguire McGraw, Anthony Carcia (Sharon), Sarah Amesse, James Carcia (LinJie), Thomas Carcia, John Carcia and David Carcia (Lisa); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Vincent and Rose Ann will be laid to rest on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 1287. Military honors will begin at 12 p.m., with a brief memorial service to follow. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the entrance of the cemetery at 11:45 a.m.
