COHOES – Vincent "Spence" Esposito, 81, entered into heaven peacefully on January 5, 2005, with the love of his life, Emily, at his side. Spence was born in Hoboken, NJ on June 30, 1923 to the late Carmine and Millie Esposito. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II from 1942 through 1946. Spence was a 50 year member of the Knights of Columbus, a fourth degree member of Council 246, Saratoga, NY and a Past Grand Knight of Pope Pius XII, East Meadow, NY. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Anthony's Church. For many years, he worked as Head Groundskeeper at the Frick Estate in Roslyn, NY. Spence is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Emily. Together they shared a life full of everlasting love and happiness. He is also survived by six children; Carmine (Lucille) Esposito, Diane (Jim) Thompson, Michael (Jean) Esposito, John (Susan) Esposito, Mary (Richie) Jankosky and Jimmy (Shawn) Esposito. He will live on always in the hearts of his 20 grandchildren and many friends. We are all so blessed to have had him in our lives.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to St. Anthony's Church, Schenectady where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Holy Name Society of St. Anthony's Church will meet at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 4445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Vincent T. Esposito.
