ALBANY – Vincent J. Tweed, 54, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 12, 2008 at his home.
Vince was born on December 22, 1953 in Albert Lea, MN and is the son of James and Doris N. (Anderson) Tweed of Lake Mills, IA.
Vince has been employed at CMP Industries in Albany for the past 5 ½ years as a tool and die maker, where he was also Chief Steward. He was the president of Local Union #838 and was a member of the American Legion Post #235. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters who were his pride and joy.
In addition to his parents, Vince is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Amy (Willert) Tweed; his loving daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Eric Wood of Colonie; his cherished granddaughters, Kirstin and Hailey Wood; his sister, Jennifer Tweed of Des Moines, IA; his mother-in-law, Iva Willert of Lake Mills, IA, his sister-in-law, Ruth Furness of Lake Mills, IA; his brother-in-law, Edward (Deb) Willert of Shell Rock, IA and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Carl Willert and his brother-in-law, Jerry Furness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 160 Central Ave., Albany. Interment will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be held at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m.
