Albany- Vincent "Vinny" Scattareggia, 53, passed on suddenly on September 16, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born on February 8, 1964 in Albany, NY, he was the son of Carla (Berghmans) Scattareggia and the late Salvatore V. Scattareggia. Vinny grew up in East Greenbush and graduated from Columbia High School. He worked for many years for RK Freedman & Son as an equipment operator and supervisor. He worked for Albany County for the last three years.
Vinny was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He was a strong, generous and caring man and would do anything for anyone in need. He loved his camp and enjoyed golfing. He was an avid New York Giants fan. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his mother, Vinny is survived by his wife of 25 years, Pamella (Kot) Scattareggia; his beloved children: Anthony, Joshua and Amber Rose Scattareggia; his siblings: Salvatore, Tracy Marie and Anthony P. Scattareggia; his grandchildren Milo and Lily Scattareggia; his aunt Margaret Scattareggia; his step-mother Jessie Scattareggia; his father-in-law William "Poppy" Kot and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Vinny will also be missed by his canine companion, Juney.
In addition to his father, Vinny was predeceased by his mother-in-law Charlotte Kot.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY. A funeral service will be at 10 am on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
