It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Vincenzia L. "Vinnie" Cunningham, 99, on Friday, Oct 6, 2023 with her loving family by her side.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Dalba) Zappala. She was the loving wife of the late Duane J. Cunningham, and devoted mother of Gary (Amy), Susan Oliva (Jeff Gardner), Andy, (Grace) and Daniel. She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren, Keith (Annie), Jenna, Angela, Kiera, Sean and Ryan, and was awaiting her first great grandson. She is also survived by many adoring nieces and nephews.
Vinnie loved doing crossword puzzles and playing cards but especially loved spending time around the dinner table with family and friends.
She was employed by NYS until the birth of her first child when she devoted her life to raising her four children. She subsequently worked at Abalene Pest Control. Vinnie was a parishioner of the Church of St. Clare and a member of Home Bureau, Catholic Daughters, Elks Club Ladies Auxiliary, American Italian Heritage Association, and volunteered for the American Cancer Society.
Vinnie was predeceased by sisters Theresa Lomonoco and Josephine Torcoletti.
She was fortunate to remain in her home with her family by her side, and was blessed to have her son Daniel living with her; they took great care of each other over the years. She will always be remembered for her thoughtful caring ways and instilling the values of love and respect. We will always love, love, love you!
