Albany, NY – Viola Patricia (Pat) Salvatore, 88, passed away peacefully into her Savior Jesus' arms, January 4, 2011. Born in Albany, she was the loving daughter of the late Michael and Carmella Grimaldi. She lived her entire life in Albany, working for over 50 years as a tireless, cheerful, and caring waitress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Salvatore; and sisters Assunta Dolores Hood, Rose Gattuso, and twin, Angela Grimaldi. She loved dogs, was an avid sports fan, and especially liked Saratoga racing in summers. 3 nephews and 2 nieces survive her: Mark Hood, Michele H. Emerson, Allan Hood, Joan Hood, and Jerry Gattuso. Pat's family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of Guilderland Center Nursing Home who cared for her during the past two years and to Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital for the caring and comfort they provided during her final illness. Viewing and a celebration of Pat's life will be Monday January 10 at 09:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave).
