Violet E. Hildebrandt

Albany - Violet E. Hildebrandt (Ramsey), passed away on March 19, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was 87 years old. Daughter of the late Frank and Ruth Cassell Ramsey, Violet was born on August 24, 1928 in Kingston NY. Violet and her husband Corey recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on January 18th. The couple wed in Albany, NY in 1947. Violet was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Violet was an avid bingo player, baker of the best cheesecake, and was the queen of scratch offs. She loved her trips to Las Vegas and the bus trips she went on with her husband. Violet loved working at JJ Newberry's as a teen until she met, fell in love and married Corey. Violet devoted her life to loving and caring for her family. You could always find her baking, singing along to Engelbert Humperdink, playing cards or enjoying her tea and ginger snaps. Violet will be forever missed by all who knew her.
Violet is survived by her husband Corey and her children Corwin Jr., Frank, Linda (Rider), Mark, and Sharon. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was the cherished grandmother to Mackenzie Blake.
The Hildebrandt family wants to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Joyce Marrocco, the attentive staff from the Eddy VNA, hospice and Memorial hospital.
Calling hours will be held from 4-7pm on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, March 25, 2016 at New Comer Funeral Home. Interment will take place following the funeral service at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
