SCHENECTADY – Virginia A. (Bowman) Ellsbury, 91, went into the loving arms of the Lord on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at The Avenue Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, Schenectady. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Bowman.
Virginia resided in Castleton for over 30 years and worked at the Viking Dairy Bar. Later, Virginia resided with her son John and his wife Patricia. While there, she formed a very special bond with her three granddaughters. Virginia loved to travel and was an avid bowler. She was a long standing member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Ester, and a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Schenectady.
Virginia was predeceased by her husband, James R. Ellsbury and grandson-in-law Ralph A. DeAguiar.
She was the devoted mother of John E. (Patricia) Ellsbury of Schenectady; loving and caring grandmother of Karen A. DeAguiar of Scotia, Debbie L. (Tony) Jones of Sagamore Hills, OH, and Janet M. (Casey) Bukowski of Niskayuna; proud and dear great-grandmother of Nicholas R. DeAguiar of Scotia. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews throughout the country.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9:00 am at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Schenectady. Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet.
