Virginia A. Gavin

COLONIE – Virginia A. Gavin passed away at home on Friday, June 11, 2010. Born in Albany, she lived in Colonie for most of her life. Jinny especially loved spending time with her family. She gave unselfishly of her time and talents to help others. Her favorite pastimes were reading, cooking, playing cards and bingo. Jinny was the beloved wife of the late Gerard B. Gavin, Sr. She is the devoted mother of Gerard B. (Deanna Churchill) Gavin, Jr. of Delmar, Donna (John) Apple of New Fairfield, CT, Dr. Deborah (Dr. Rustom) Rastinehad of Saratoga Springs, Arlene (John) Mirabile of Colonie and Christine (Edward) Ericson of Huntingdon, PA. Jinny is the cherished grandmother of Harry Schultz, Jessica (Michael) Marquard, Ardeshir and Rameen Rastinehad, Matthew (Delta) Apple, Jennifer Apple, John Mirabile, Joseph, Casey, Michael and Katherine Ericson and the late Justin Mirabile. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Clare in Colonie. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. At the request of the family, memorial contributions would be appreciated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriner's Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 in memory of Virginia A. Gavin.
