Virginia M. Caputi, 78, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 3, 1944 in Ogdensburg, NY, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Delduchetto.Virginia was a graduate from Ogdensburg Free Academy and later attended from New York City Nurses College and St.Joseph's Nursing College in Maine, where she obtained her Bachelor's in Nursing.
Virginia used her compassionate and healing nature throughout her 30 year career at St.Peter's Hospital as a RN. She was an Ombudsman, advocating for the sick and disabled throughout Albany, a CPR and first-aid instructor through St.Peter's, and a Capt. in the U.S. Army Reserve as a nurse. Virginia was a parishioner of Mater Christi, where she sang in the church choir and made prayer shawls for the sick.
She enjoyed antiquing and shopping; and above all, loved spending time with her family, friends and cats.
In addition to her parents, Virginia is predeceased by her brothers, Michael and John.
Virginia is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Charlene Caputi; Brother, Thomas (Joanne) Delduchetto; Marlene (the late Kenneth) Patterson; sister-in-law, Deborah Delduchetto; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, March 8th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 9th at 10AM at Mater Christi, Albany.
