COLONIE- Virginia "Ginni" M. LaMountain went home to her Lord surrounded by the comfort of family and friends on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Born and raised in Chatham, NY, Ginni was the daughter of the late Alan and Pauline (Adler) Hills, and the beloved wife of the late Spencer F. LaMountain.
She is survived by her son Frank Prevratil and children Seth, Frankie, and Krista; son Neil (Tracy) Prevratil and children Allison and Abby; son Scott (Megan) LaMountain and children Spencer, Josephine, Silas, Ezra, and Seneca; and daughter-in-law Sheri Prevratil.
Ginni had a life-long love of music beginning in the school choir in Chatham High School. In later years, she sang for numerous country-western groups. Ginni instilled her love of music in her own children and grandchildren; her home was always filled with song and dance. Ginni's working career centered around the retail and service industries, but her true passion was raising her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ginni was at her happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
Her storied life included adventures such as solo cross-country trips on her Harley-Davidson alongside her passion for stock-car racing. In later years you might have found Ginni working late alongside her beloved husband Spence at any number of capital district diners. She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church, notably Pine Grove Methodist in Colonie, NY. Ginni found a deep relationship with Christ that delivered her to a peaceful end.
Calling hours will be held at Newcomer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie on Wednesday, February 8th, from 4-6 PM with a memorial service immediately following.
