Virginia R. Lynch (Ginny) of Albany, New York passed away on March 15th, 2023, at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness.
Ginny was born in Albany, New York on January 10, 1946, to Calvin Maurice and Jeannette (Quin) Mallery. She graduated from Philip Schuler High School in 1965.
Ginny loved to read, travel, attend Broadway shows, listen to music (she loved Elvis Presley in her younger years), and spend time with family and friends. In the summertime you would often see her lounging by the pool or playing board and card games with family. She loved watching game shows on TV and was quite the Trivia Master. She loved all things history and could tell you about each one of the Saints in detail.
Ginny worked for the Albany Health department for years until she moved to the New York State Department of Purchasing where she stayed until she retired.
Ginny is survived by her loving husband John (Jack) Lynch, daughters Charlene (Jeff) DeVito, Lynn Thomas (Jeff) Moore, stepchildren John (Tammy) Lynch, Denice (Spencer) Pottenger. Grandchildren Coby and Grace DeVito, Samantha and Isabella Alesandrini, John (Heather) Lynch, Lisa Lynch (Russell) Craft, Amanda (Joshua) Manirajan, Angel (Stephen) Powell, Joshua (Rebecca) Suarez. Sister Lois (Pat) Obrien and brother Burris (Elin Mallery), Sister and Brother-in-law Brian (Mary) Lynch, Danny (Kelly) Lynch and Laura (Cedric) Wells. Loving aunt to Burris (Penny) Beattie as well numerous other family members and friends that she cherished.
She was preceded in death by her parents Calvin and Jeannette Mallery. Her first husband Fredrick Thomas, Daughter Alicia Alesandrini, Son-in-Law John Alesandrini. Sister Laura Mallery, brother Chuck Mallery, Mother-in-Law Joyce Brush and Sister-in-Law Sandra Lynch.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 25th, 2023, from 10am 12pm with a funeral service to immediately follow at 12pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 343 New Karner Road in Colonie, New York. Online condolences may be expressed at www.NewComerAlbany.com.
