WEST ALBANY – Virginia M. Carmody, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2005 at her daughter, Cathy Carlson's home in Palenville, NY. She was surrounded by her family as she entered into eternal life peacefully and gracefully as she lived.
Virginia was born in Nassua, NH to the late Eugene and Margaret Hunt McQuesten. She lived many years in West Albany, where she raised nine children, before relocating to Palenville three years ago. She was a member of the West Albany Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to their sister, Cathy Carlson, her husband Mike and their children, Erica, Greg and Adam for opening their lives to her and for their loving care for the past three years.
In addition to her daughter Cathy, she is survived by her other children, Jim Carmody, Lillian Hughes, Tom (Robin) Carmody, Linda (Steve) Hope, Bill (Sue) Carmody, Mike Carmody, Laura Carmody and Jean (Cosimo) Lorica; her other grandchildren, Gene Jr., Sean, Brendon, Steven, Dawn, Frank, Chris, Katlyn, Brian and Sabrina; her great granddaughters, Alyssa and Kierra; and her brother, Eugene McQuesten.
She was predeceased by her husband, Francis J. Carmody; her children, Carol Ann and twins, Francis and Susan; and her son-in-law, Gene Hughes.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
