GUILDERLAND- Virginia C. (Ginny) Rovelli, 83, entered into eternal rest on May 3, 2006 at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born on February 9, 1923 in Bridgeport, Alabama and resided there until she moved to Albany in 1945 where she raised her family. Ginny and her husband retired to Florida in 1980. She was the daughter of the late Birch and Eleanor Matthews Phy. Virginia's life was centered around her family as wife, mother and grandmother. She was a devout Presbyterian.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Anthony J. Rovelli of Largo, FL and her sister, Elsie Williams of Scottsboro, AL. She was the cherished Mom of Mrs. Leroy (Sandra) Hirsch of Colonie and Mrs. Arthur (Carolyn) Loesch of Guilderland; grandmother of Cheri Cole, Leroy, Penny and Thomas Hirsch, Mrs. Michael (Valerie) Bonnier, Mrs. David (Jessica) Duncan, Eric and Gregory Loesch. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by everyone.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday from 3 to 5 pm at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A service in celebration of Virginia's life will be offered at 5:00pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
