TROY-Virginia "Jean" Stark, 93 of Troy passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Van Rensselaer Manor. She was born in Troy, NY the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Norton) Prefore. Jean enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows and listening to music.
She is survived by her sons David Stark (Debi) and Walter "Jerry" Stark (the late Darlene) and her grandchildren Tracy Gallagher (Scott), Joel Stark (Laura), Jonathan Stark and Brittany Stark. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Anna Grace Stark and Ethan Stark; her sisters Hilda "Mary" Gregware, Roseann Gontier and the late Muriel Gregware and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, August 22, 2014 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
A Mass of Christian of Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 2420 Seventh Ave., Watervliet.
Interment will be at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rensselaer County Hospice, the Ronald McDonald House or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
