Albany- Virginia Walton, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 30, 2018 from Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush, NY.
She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. Virginia was born on August 28, 1925, the daughter of the late William and Cornelia Walton of Coeymans, NY.
Virginia was preceded in death by her two daughters, Sandra Jean Walton and Marcella Ann Cole and two grandsons, Shaun J. Walton and Alton Britt; her sisters Ollie Petty of Brooklyn, Louise Robinson and Mae Diggs both of Albany; Etta Gladney and William (Uncle Bill) Walton both of Coeymans.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memories, her sister Ruth (Clinton) Simmons; her children; Virginia, James (Deborah), Rosemarie, Carrieann & Garry Walton all of Albany, NY, Rodney Jackson of Albany, NY, Patricia (Keith) Williamson of Philadelphia, PA, Samuel and Robin Penick and Deanna (Samuel) Sanchez also of Albany, NY.; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Calling hours will be held on Monday April 9 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 26 Wilson Avenue, Albany from 9am to 11am . A funeral service will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church at 11am. Interment will follow the service at Graceland Cemetery.
