Virginia E. Young

Virginia Elizabeth Blanton Young, 87, passed away peacefully on September 4th at home. Born in Albany she was the daughter of the late Cora Blanton and Eldridge Blanton, sister of the late Samuel Blanton, wife of the late Alfred Young and mother of Timothy, Bruce, Keeylyn, Kelly, the late Lisa Young and a special daughter Zanetta Motley.

Virginia attended the Albany City schools, graduating from Philip Schuyler Sr. High, as well as Albany College of Nursing and Albany Business College. She worked for State of New York, Cooperative Extension in the field of Nutrition. She retired from the Probation Dept in Albany in 1990 but never stopped being useful. She always had a house full of children of all ages and was called Ma by all.

She leaves behind 4 children, 15 great grandchildren and many great grandchildren, as well as beloved god daughter Yolanda "Queen" Lee and many more who called her Ma or Mudd Mudds.

A visitation will be held on Friday September 15th from 10am-12pm with a service at 12pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie.

Interment immediately following in Graceland cemetery.
