ALBANY-Vita Molinari, 91 passed away on Friday, January 3, 2014 at St. Peter's Hospital Hospice Inn. She was born in Bernalda, Italy the daughter of the late Berardino and Antonia (Gallo) Orlandino. Vita was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a professional seamstress. Vita was the recipient of Senior Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009. Vita enjoyed cooking and especially spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Vita was predeceased by her husband Anthony Molinari, her daughter Anna Gareau and by a brother Donato Orlandino.
Vita is survived by her beloved children Josephine (Carmen) Laviano and John (Christine) Molinari and by her cherished grandchildren Robert (Christine) Laviano, Angela (John) Bonacci, Karla Gareau and Gabrielle (Mark) Michalski. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Alessandra and Luca Laviano; son in law Steve Gareau; and her brother Vincenzo Orlandino of Argentina.
The family would like to thank Hospice, Dr. Gregg Gerety for many years of care and St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, especially the second floor staff (her second family) for their kindness, compassion and care that she received during her stay there.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Central Ave, Albany.
Interment will be at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
Contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church in memory of Vita.
