Colonie – Vito E. Pazienza, 89, of Colonie, passed away suddenly while vacationing in Reading, PA.

He was born in Watervliet and was the son of the late Nicholas and Rose Mary Pazienza. Vito proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was a 1950 graduate of Siena College. Vito was an accountant with the New York State Comptrollers Office for over 35 years. He was an active member of Christ Our Light Catholic Church and served as a lector, Eucharistic Minister and funeral liturgy assistant for many years. Vito was the Past President of the Colonie Towers Seniors and longtime member of the Italian Benevolent Society. He enjoyed bowling and traveling.

Vito is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Pat Pazienza. He is the devoted father of Nancy Ann (Ray) Cecot and Carol Ann (Don) Smith. He is the cherished grandfather of Christopher Cecot, Theresa Ann (Mike) Cecot-Scherer, Nicholas (Jenn) Cecot, Gregory Gornick and Andrew Gornick. He is the great grandfather of Alex Cecot and Nicholas Cecot-Scherer. Vito is the dear brother of Mary Johnson, Joseph (Emily) Pazienza, Frank (Vicky) Pazienza and Anna Mae Engel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his grand puppies Tinker and Chiclett.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:00 at Christ Our Light Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Ass'n, 440 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Vito E. Pazienza.
