SELKIRK – Vivian Grace Sarantopoulos, 81, of Selkirk, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Vivian was born in Columbus, NY and was the daughter of the late Lewis James and Bernice Eleanor (King) Allen. She was a graduate of the New York State School for the Deaf in Rome. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, William Sarantopoulos; her twin infant sons, George and Peter; her brother, Dean S. Allen and her great grandson, Raidon Stanton.
Vivian is the cherished mother of Sherry Stanton (Robert) of Selkirk. She is the grandmother of William Stanton (Kim) of Malta, Christopher Stanton (Michelle) of Sumter, SC, Todd Stanton (Rebecca) of Loudonville, Jeremy Stanton (Tracy) of Oceanside, CA and Jessica Stanton (James) of Albany. She is the great grandmother of Haley, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Kaylee, Emylie, Kenji, and Jacob. She is the sister of Gene Allen. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
A Mass of Resurrection Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, (Trinintyep.org), 1336 1st Avenue, Watervliet where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will precede the service from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Selkirk.
