ALBANY – W. OTIS SIGNER, 92, born February 14, 1921, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at home. A lifelong resident of Albany, Otis was the son of the late W. Otis and Mary J. Signer.
Otis graduated from Albany High School and was employed for over 45 years by BASF Corp, formerly GAF, in Rensselaer as a Quality Control Lab Technician. He was a member of BASF Supervisor's Association, the Benevolent Athletic Association and the Old Timers Association. Otis was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Albany for his entire life.
Otis is survived by his wife, Margaret Marshall Signer, sister Dorothy Signer Nugent of Hartsdale, NY; brother-law James (Alice) Marshall of Oak Park, IL; sister-in-law Mary Shultis of Pittsfield, MA; nephews and nieces David, Peter, Mark, Mary, Frances, Anne, James, Thomas and John. He is also survived by a great nephew David and great niece Arielle.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the Community Hospice of Albany for their compassionate care during the Otis's last month.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Historic St. Mary's Church, 10 Lodge Street, Albany. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
