Waldo "Wally" Greene,74, of Voorheesville, NY passed away peacefully Friday July 24, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn.
"Wally" Born in 1935 in Albany, NY he was the son of the late Waldo S. and Florence H. Greene. He graduated from Albany High School and attended Clark University in Worcester, MA. He served in the US Navy in 1955-1957 where he was an oral surgeon assistant, and a member of the US Navy Drill Team which appeared on the Perry Como TV show. From 1962-1969 he was employed by Agway, Bordentown, NJ as a laboratory manager. In 1969 he moved to Albany, NY where he was employed by Jared Holt Co. division of PCI Group. While at PCI Group he received a U.S. Patent in 1983 for a mold release compound. Wally served as President of JHC Industries – a company that manufactured products for the shoe and cleaning industries. For 13 years he and his wife were the proprietors of VanCurler Music Co, Albany, NY. Later he was employed by Cardinal Health delivering medical supplies until
he retired due to illness.
Wally is survived by his loving wife Shirley M. Greene of Voorheesville, NY and two daughters, Cindy M. Curley (Glen) of Summit, NJ and Sherrie L. West of Columbia, MD. He is the brother of Emily (Andrew) Laraway of Altamont, NY. He was son in-law of the late Roy and Eleanor Vanderburgh and brother in-law to Ronald Vanderburgh.
He was the adored PopPop of Brian, Jason, and Allison Curley, Summit, NJ and beloved uncle to six nieces, and two grand nieces, six grandnephews and his devoted dog, Rags.
Wally was an admired member of the Voorheesville community. He was loved by all that
knew him. Wally was known for his infectious smile that "lit up a room" He was truly a "people person." Wally served on the Town of New Scotland Recreation Planning Board of the town park. He was a long time member of the Bassmasters Club in Berne, NY. Wally loved vacationing with his family at their summer home on Lake St. Catherine in Vermont where he was an avid fisherman and boating enthusiast. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, carpentry, bird watching, dogs, sports, as well as building boats with his father in-law.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be Sunday 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
