SCHENECTADY- Wallace Davis, beloved son, father, and grandfather, passed away after a brief illness on February 23rd, 2023.

Wally was a career public administrator, serving various roles within both the New York State Office of General Services and the US Army National Guard. Wally's 30 year career with OGS and related agencies put him in direct supervision of the conception, design, construction, and utilization of the Empire State Plaza and Ten Eyck Tower in downtown Albany. Wally served in Europe as an active duty Field Artillery Officer and Company Commander in 1960-62, took another active duty assignment for the Army and Air Force overseeing Operational Effectiveness from 1980-83, and otherwise concurrently served in the Army Reserve / National Guard for over 30 years.

Wally was born in Boston in 1938. He grew up in Cambridge, MA, graduating from Rindge Technical School and later Harvard University in 1959 with a degree in Architectural Sciences. Dad later earned his Masters Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.

Wally is survived by son, Todd Davis of Aurora, Colorado; daughter, Lisa Davis Kirkpatrick and son-in-law, Jon Kirkpatrick of Watkinsville, Georgia; grandchildren: Skylar and Carter Kirkpatrick of Watkinsville, Georgia, and Morgan and Margaret Davis of Aurora, Colorado.

Plans for a celebration of life are forthcoming, and will be announced on the memorial website at NewComerAlbany.com.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 10a.m. at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
