ALBANY - Walter C. Hall, 87, born in New York City, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation in Scotia, surrounded by his loving family.
Walter is survived by eight devoted children, Barbara (the late George Scherer), Michael, Christine (the late Frank Ryan), James, Rita, Marge, Matthew, and Patrick. Also surviving are six loving grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia C. (Sullivan) Hall.
Walter served his country proudly in the US Navy during WWII. He was a fireman for the NYC Fire Department for 24 years, retiring in 1975, where he tirelessly provided for his wife and eight children. He was a devout catholic and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie then to The Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hurst Avenue, Albany at 10:00 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
