Loudonville, Walter T. Hitchcock Sr, 77, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 surrounded by the love of his family.
Walt was born in Albany, NY on January 7, 1940 to the late Henry and Ella Hitchcock. He was the beloved husband to Marion Hitchcock for over 60 years. Together they raised seven boys. Walt will be remembered as the best husband and father there ever could be. His passion in life was his family. Walt retired after 24 years of service from Pepsi Cola Bottling. He was a former member of the Colonie Elks, a Grand Knight of the Watervliet Knights of Columbus, a Cub Master at Our Lady of Mercy School, a Baseball Coach at St. Francis Little league, a manger of St. Cashmire's Schools BINGO, and a former Democratic Committeeman of Colonie.
He is predeceased by his brothers, Henry Jr., Thomas, and James Hitchcock.
He is survived by his wife, Marion, his children, Walter (Trish) Hitchcock Jr., Michael (Jen) Hitchcock, Peter (Lance) Hitchcock, Gregory (Mel) Hitchcock, Todd Hitchcock, Matthew (Beth) Hitchcock, and Joseph (Gabrielle) Hitchcock, 9 Grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, his brother, Floyd (Jane) Hitchcock, his sister, Mary (Bob) Petit, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Calling hours will be held at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville, NY 12211, on Friday, October 20, 2017, from 10:00am-11:00am with a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated immediately following.
