LOUDONVILLE, NY – Walter W. Hubbard, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 on his 83rd birthday, at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Albany. Born in Belchertown, MA, he was a resident of Latham for over 37 years. Walter was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country during World War II in the European Theater and a recipient of the Purple Heart. After World War II, he served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Hubbard worked for the Kinnicutt Bus Company and a driver and aide. Walter was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter and the Church of Latter Day Saints in Loudonville. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and camping. Walter was the beloved husband of the late Geneva (Jean) Hubbard. He is the father of George E. (Gloria) Hubbard. He is the special Dad and Grandpa to Barbara Malachowski and her daughter Nicole and Nicole's daughter, Kaela. He is the grandfather of Jennifer and John Hubbard. Also surviving is his great-granddaughter, Abby Lynn Prusky and his beloved friend, Kim Reilly and her children Stacey and Jason. Walter was predeceased by his brothers, Harold and George Hubbard and his sister, Hazel Loggie.
Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 1:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 11:00 to 1:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie. Expressions of sympathy may be made at newcomerfamily.com
