Walter J. Breakell, III, of Bradenton, Florida passed away at St. Peters Hospital, Monday, April 11, 2016. He was born in Bronx, NY. He attended Manhattan Prep school and St. John's University. He lived most of his life in Loudonville, NY. He touched so many lives during his 90 years. Walt would always lend a helping hand and share his experience and knowledge. He loved to give advice. He was well respected in the construction industry. Walt was Co-Owner of MacFarland-Breakell Construction Company and Co-Owner of Manasota Construction Company. Walt was a long standing member of the North Eastern Contractors Association. He was a past President and served many years at NECA. Walt was a member of several Contracting Associations in the area, General Building Contractors, Associated General Contractors, and Associated Building Contractors. Walt was also an Arbitrator for American Arbitration Association.
Walter was predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothy (Friss) Breakell. He is survived by his children: Walter IV (Deborah) Breakell of Boulder, Colorado, David (Joanne) Breakell of Albany, New York and Susan (George) Gresko of Abington, Pennsylvania. He is cherished "PopPop" to his grandchildren, Walter V, Kristin, Lou, David, Brandon, George, Lauren, James and Katherine. Walt is survived by several loving nieces and nephews and "Uncle Walt" to several extended family. Walt is predeceased by his parents, Walter II and Susan Breakell; his brothers: Ralph Breakell, Adrian Breakell, Aubrey Breakell; his sisters: Eileen Lemon and Marcella Breakell. Walt enjoyed many wonderful years and created fond memories in Bradenton, Florida and Snyder's Lake with family and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016, 5-8 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. There will be no calling hours on the morning of Monday, April 18th at New
Comer Funeral Home. Guests are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10 am
at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumite Road, Loudonville. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
Walt's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to his Nurse-Carol, Dr. Beigun, Dr. Pappendrea and their staff.
