Walter L. Johnson

ALBANY- Walter L. Johnson, 83, of Albany, passed away on Monday September 15, 2008. He was born on Albany and was the son of the late Lester and Eleanor Denny Johnson.
Walter served in the US Coast Guard during WWII. He was employed with Transport Teamsters Local 294 and with the Albany Municipal Golf Course.
He was predeceased by his daughter Michelle Klouse, his grandson Dallas T. Klouse and his siblings Katherine, John, Lester and Margaret.
Walter is the beloved husband of 59 years to Cecile Proulx Johnson. He is the devoted father of David (Marie) Johnson and Diane (James) McMurtry . Father in law of Thomas Klouse. Cherished grandfather of Brooke (Andrew) Brennan, Shawn (Brad Ruskoz) McMurtry, Rebecca (David) Bellard, Adam Johnson and Kyle Johnson. He is the brother of Davia Russo and brother in law of Ronald Proulx.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 12 noon at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be from 11 am to 12 noon on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
