SCHENECTADY – Walter M. Green, 79, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Ellis Hospital.
Walter was born on January 9, 1933 in Schenectady and was the son of the late Thomas Henry and Parthenic (Stokes) Green. He was predeceased by his wife, Ethel Pierce.
Walter worked for the City of Schenectady, Department of Public Works for over 20 years before retiring; prior to that he worked at Vic's Restaurant and Cheeks Funeral Home, both in Schenectady. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards and traveling.
Walter is survived by his children, Helena Williams, Charles Pierce, Lulamay Pierce, Jaime Pierce, Walter Pierce and the late Judy, Albert, and Andy Pierce; his grandchildren, Emanuel, Kody, Maleek, and Parhis; his great grandchildren, Aniya, Emanuel Jr., Mekhi, and Imani; and his sister, Lou Green. He is also survived by many other grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
