Walter S. Riddell

Walter S. Riddell, 84, went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2013. He was born in Schenectady to the late Walter and Dorothy (Green) Riddell. Walter was very fortunate to live out his lifelong passion for automobiles working for 60 years for Nemith Motor Corp. retiring as its President in 2007. He enjoyed golfing with his son and grandsons and friends. He was also an avid Yankee and Giant fan. Walter always saw the best in everyone and every situation and will be greatly missed.

He leaves his beloved wife of 62 years, Irene, his children Gail and her husband Larry, Bryan and his wife Marie; three grandsons, Michael, Timothy and Dennis and his wife Lea. He was "Peepa" to his precious great grandchildren, Audriana and Declan. He is also survived by his brother Richard and his wife Jean and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Marra and the staff of the Ellis Neuro ICU and emergency department for the professional and compassionate care they provided.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Relief Fund at Reach Out Fellowship, 218 Osborne Rd., Albany, NY 12205 or to a charity of ones choice in Walter's memory.

Funeral services will be Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 4:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at the privacy of the family.
