December 3, 1925 — March 8, 2014

SCHENECTADY – Walter W. Huehn, 88, much loved father and grandfather passed away peacefully with family at his side on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Ellis Hospital.

Walter was born on December 3, 1925 in Frankenberg, Germany and was the son of Constantin and Elsa (Wetter) Huehn. He served in the US Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He was a steamfitter for Tougher Industries in Menands and a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union No. 7. He was an avid train enthusiast, talented craftsman and nature lover. He enjoyed residences in Colonie, Orlando, Satellite Beach, Oviedo, FL and Hedges Lake, NY.

Walter is survived by his children, Bruce S. Huehn (Nancy) of Howes Caves, NY, Barbara J. Huehn of Arlington, VA, and Linda H. Sullivan (Michael) of Plano, TX; his granddaughters, Sarah M. Huehn, Ruth E. Tuller (Matt) and Megan J. Sullivan; his sister, Henrietta Miller (Kirk) of Midland, TX and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 45 years, Joyce E. (Stanton) Huehn and his sister, Marie Vigars.

The family extends gratitude to all friends, family, staffs of Kingsway Manor and Ellis Radiation and the drivers of the Schenectady Cancer Foundation.

The family will gather for a funeral service with interment to follow at Memory Gardens.
