Wanda Mclaughlin

Wanda C. (Szembrot) McLaughlin, July 3, 1926 - May 9, 2015.
Wanda passed away at noon at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY. Daughter of the late Caroline and Carl Szembrot. Beloved wife of Thomas P. McLaughlin (married for 64 years). She is survived by her children: Catherine McLaughlin (Kumar Keshavan), Laureen McLaughlin (Eric Francoeur), and Thomas McLaughlin (Wendy Fresn), and by brothers Albert, Carl Jr. and Robert Szembrot. She is predeceased by brothers Watson and William and sisters Jennie, Helen and Pauline, and great-grandson Arlo Church. She is also survived by grandchildren Chellamal Keshavan, (Paulo Timas), Jayram Keshavan, Leo McLaughlin Francoeur, Sadie (McLaughlin) Church, (Michael Church), Sean McLaughlin and great-grandchildren Jaiden and Naila Timas, Rebekah and Clara Church, and several nieces and nephews.
She resided at Millview Assisted Living and formerly at The Atria Guilderland. She raised her children in Glenmont and Castleton, NY. Wanda attended Albany High School and worked at the NYS Health Dept., division of Labs and Research. She was also active with the Brownies, Cub Scouts, PTA, and Sacred Heart Church.
Viewing hours are from 4-7pm, Thursday May, 14 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. Funeral service at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Ave, Albany, NY 12203, Friday May 15 at 10am, burial at St. Agnes Cemetery, 48 Cemetery Ave, Menands, NY 12204.
