COLONIE – Wayne E. Bliven, 75, of Colonie, passed away on Thursday November 22, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Floyd and Ruth Bliven. Wayne was predeceased by his beloved wife, Catherine Bradt Bliven and his son, Peter A. Bliven. He was a longtime machinist with Fuller Brush, Bruno Machinery and Ross Valve in Troy where he was a cherished colleague and friends. Wayne was an avid fan of Nascar. He enjoyed good times with his family, picnics at Thatcher Park, camping with huge camp fires, plenty of ice cream and his cat Smokey. Wayne was a longtime member and Past Chief of the Westmere Fire Department.
Wayne is the beloved father of JoAnn (Mike) Stofelano, Brenda (Robert) Salsburg, Deanna (Tim) Dowen, Ruthann Monaco, Alyson Bliven, and Stephanie (Scott) Kingsley. He is the brother of Joyce (Willie)Demoly and John (Bashia) Bliven. Wayne is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 11 am to 1 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. A prayer service will be offered at 1:00 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Wayne E. Bliven.
