March 11, 1950 — April 20, 2017

Charlton – Wayne A. Emerich, 67, passed away Thursday, April 20th, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Wayne was the son of the late Arthur and Ann (Swain) Emerich and the devoted husband to EllenAnne Emerich.

Wayne spent his life on his beloved family hay farm that he ran with his best friend and brother, Dale Emerich, for over 50 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and target shooting with his sons. In his early years Wayne enjoyed competitive snowmobiling, earning many awards and accolades. Wayne volunteered his time as a committee member of the Saratoga County chapter of Duck's Unlimited. On the rare occasion that he wasn't baling hay, you could find him riding his Harley or camping on Indian Lake with those closest to him.

Wayne is survived by his four sons; Michael, David (Darci), Anthony Penree (Christine) and Nicholas Penree (Caitlyn) as well as his six grandchildren of whom he adored; Austen, Skyler, Owen, Megan, Connor and Hailey. Wayne is also survived by his siblings, Judy Hughes (Michael ), Bruce (Eleanor) & Dale (Deborah) in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends. Last but certainly not least are his beloved Labrador Retrievers, Jack and Toby.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his brother, Arthur.

A memorial service in celebration of Wayne's life will be held at a later date.
