DELMAR, NY – Wayne F. Delligan, Sr., passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Martin and Irene Abare. He was a resident of Albany for all of his life. He was employed for many years at A.R.C. in Albany before his retirement. Mr. Delligan was a member of the Watervliet Elks Lodge #1500 and the American Legion Joseph E. Zaloga Post #1520 Sons of the Legion. Wayne is the beloved husband of 33 years to Mary A. Delligan. He is the father of Gena (Russell) Rue, Wayne Delligan, Jr., and Thomas Delligan and the stepfather of Dawn M. (Philip) McCurdy-Crain and Kimberly (Brian) Hanson. Wayne is the brother of Eilean (Victor) Hoffmeister, Jeannie (William) Vettinger and Normandine (Robert) Chrysler. He is the grandfather of James Martin and Amber and Taylor Crain. Also surviving are several in-laws, nieces and nephews. Wayne was predeceased by his brothers, Anthony and William Delligan, and his sisters, Carol Pierce, Shirley Dibble, Mildred Noack, Patricia Cane and Lorraine Delligan.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
