Wayne R. Reedy

Colonie- Wayne R. Reedy, 73, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Brackenridge, PA he was the son of the late Melvin and Stella Reedy. Wayne had worked for 32 years for CDTA retiring in 1996. He was an avid outdoorsman, and also enjoyed woodworking. He was a charter member of the Trinity Baptist Church on Balltown Road, Niskayuna. Wayne was quite a people person. You could always find him giving a hand to someone or participating in community service events. He was an amazing father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The biggest joy in his life was spending time with his family. Wayne is predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years Pearl (Hummel) Reedy, his sister Helen O'Bringer, and his brother George Reedy.
Wayne leaves behind to cherish his memory five children; Richard D. Reedy of New Baltimore, Michael W. Reedy of Colonie, Beverly M. Reedy of Schaghticoke, Allen D. Reedy and wife Ann of Niskayuna, and Karen Stufflebeam and husband Steven of Colonie. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren; Michael, Jason, Nora, Rebecca, Victoria, Mia, Felicia, Samantha, and Sophia, 2 great-grandchildren; Tyler and Taylor, 2 brothers; Melvin and Harry Reedy, and a sister Delores Hummel.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211, in memory of Wayne R. Reedy.
