Wendell W. Jennings, 72, of Cohoes, passed away on February 4, 2024 at Samaritan Hospital with his sons at his side.

He was born in Amsterdam on October 26, 1951 to the late Carl and Almarine (Peterson) Jennings.

Wendell was a 1969 graduate of Fort Plain High School, where he played Basketball, Soccer and Baseball. He went on to play basketball briefly at Kansas Wesleyan before returning to the area. He was a longtime High School sports official, with a career spanning more than 30 years officiating boys and girls basketball, girls soccer and softball. He was an assigner for the Mohawk Valley board of girls soccer officials. Wendell was also an avid LA Dodgers and Dallas Cowboys fan.

In his younger years he loved to hunt and fish, skills that he passed on to his sons.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 31 years Kathy (Hinz), brothers Raymond and Jack Jennings.

He is survived by his sons Josh (Fallon) and Jeremy Jennings, granddaughters Jaelyn and Evelina as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday February 7th from 4pm-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd, Watervliet NY 12189. Interment to follow Thursday February 8th at 11am in Evergreen Cemetery 296 Martin Rd, Fonda, NY
