Wendy J McGarry, 86, wife of the late John P McGarry, passed peacefully in her home with her loving daughter by her side.
"Wenders" if you knew her in the States or "Woo" as she was known in the UK was born January 26, 1937 in Beemham, Berkshire, England she was the daughter of the late George and Audrey Tigwell.
Wendy was a long time employee at RPES dedicating many years to the schools lunch program. If you knew Wendy, you know she had a love of QVC, hot tea, old movies and also had quite the sweet tooth. There was nothing she loved more then to sit with a cup of tea a cookie and watch an old movie, especially in the middle of the night.
Survivors include her children, Lori McGarry of Lansingburgh and John W McGarry of Astoria, NY, Sister in Law Elizabeth McGarry, niece Katina Lanese and nephew Stephen Czech and 3 great nieces and nephew. She is also survived by her "adopted son" John Lopiano (Jennifer) of Lansingburgh.
It was Wendy's wishes to forego any services, she would love to be remembered as who she was rather than how she left us. Please feel free to have yourself a cup of tea, watch an old movie and remember all the good things about Wendy.
The family would like to thank the Doctors at SPHP, with special thanks to Dr Elena Theodosiu and Dr. Gabriel Kaufman who took extraordinary care of Wendy on the cancer journey.
In lieu of flowers, Wendy would like donations made to either of the following, she had a love of animals and a warm spot in her heart for children battling cancer.
