Wentworth H. Roose

Wentworth "Sonny" Roose of Troy, N.Y. was born 1936 in Hingham Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Lucy M. Murphy of Hingham, MA. Sonny was one of five children preceded in passing by sisters Marguerite Noland and Lois Thurston. He is also preceded in death by his two sons and daughter, Michael, Dale, and Donna Lee. He is survived by his siblings Eleanor Neumann of Farmington, ME. and Edgar Murphy Jr. of Hingham, MA, three sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Sonny attended Hingham Elementary, and graduated from Norfolk Agricultural High School in Walpole MA. He served proudly in the Massachusetts National Guard and was one of the founding members of the Pioneers Car Club, one of the first hot rod clubs south of Boston. He enjoyed the outdoors, duck hunting, especially trout fishing and his cat, Walter. One of his loves was stock car racing on the local level and the dirt tracks. As a young man, he owned several antique cars in which he completely restored to collector quality. In his late years he enjoyed spending holidays gathered with friends and family.
