ALBANY-Wesley Libby, 90, of Albany, NY passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at St. Peter's Hospital. He was born in Manchester, NH, the son of the late John A. and Marie A. (Farland) Libby. Wesley was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Marine Corp. He retired from the New York Army National Guard as a Sergeant Major and from the New York Guard as a Brigadier General. Wesley retired from the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs in 1983 after many years of service. He and his beloved wife, Margaret enjoyed 22 winters in Zephyrhills Hills, Florida. Wesley enjoyed camping and traveling. He also was a lifetime member of the Marine Corp. League and a member of the Elks Club and the VFW.
Wesley is survived by his wife of 62 years Margaret (Parady) Libby; his son Bill Libby (Martha); his daughter Linda Schneider (Roland); granddaughter Nicole Pellegrini (Aaron) and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St. Albany.
Interment will be at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Wesley.
