Wilfred Robert Wallace, "Bob", 86, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 24, 2019, after a brief hospital stay for a stroke and other complications.
Bob was born October 25, 1932, in Troy, NY, and grew up on his parents' family dairy farm in Brunswick, NY. After attending Troy High School, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served during the Korean War. During that time he married his sweetheart, Roselyn. Upon completion of his service to our country, Bob & Roselyn returned to New York and started their own family dairy farm in Pittstown, NY, and then moved to a larger farm in Valley Falls. While on the farm, he put his trust & faith in the Lord. He did some short-term mission trips to Portugal and Spain, and helped establish Hoosic Valley Community Church in Schaghticoke, NY. He sold the family farm in 1981 and they attended the Word Of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY. Bob & Roselyn served with Word of Life for the next ten years doing missionary work at Word of Life camps in Australia, and Kenya, Africa. Upon returning to the US, they settled in Clifton Park, NY, to care for Bob's aging parents. Bob also worked part-time for Temple Baptist Church in Halfmoon, in charge of the buildings and grounds. He retired in August 2016.
Bob loved his family so much and was especially blessed to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid reader, loved gardening, and enjoyed watching sports – especially baseball. He looked forward to his many vacations in the Bahamas.
Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years, Roselyn (Patricka) Wallace; his sister, Barbara Mikkelsen; his children: Roselyn (Thomas) Litwin, Marilyn (Norman) Vielleux, Robert (Melissa) Wallace, Pamelyn (Vincent) Baim; his grandchildren: Scott (Ethel) Litwin, Victoria (Jeremy) Kombol, Naomi (Bryan) Whitmore, Sarah (Jeremy) Fischer, Aaron (Renee) Vielleux, Steven (Amanda) Vielleux, Laura (Nicholas) Marchese, Michael Wallace, Elizabeth Wallace, David Wallace; and 21 great-grandchildren.
