Wilhelmina H. Kinal, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2011, at the Community Hospice of Albany, surrounded by her loving family. Wilhelmina was born in Albany to the late Henry and Anna Kimmel. During WWII she worked as an inspector, during the production of Purple Hearts, later she would work for the New York State Department of Criminal Justice until her retirement. She was an active member with St. Johns Lutheran Church in Albany. Wilhelmina loved gardening, traveling, cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Michael Kinal; her sisters, Elizabeth and Gertrude and her brother, Henry.
Wilhelmina is survived by her beloved children, Barbara (James) Correa, Michael (Dolores) Kinal and James Kinal; her cherished grandchildren, James, Steven and Andrea; her adored great-grandchildren, Jacob, Mason and Zachary. She is also survived by her sister, Lois and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 21st, at 11 AM, at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
