Willam J. Costello, Iii

DELMAR, NY – William J. Costello, III, 52, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2010. He was born in Rockville Centre, NY and is the beloved son of Joan Costello and William J. (Irene) Costello. Bill worked in corrections for New York State Department of Corrections at Greene Correctional Facility for twenty-five years, retiring in 2003 as a lieutenant. More recently, he worked as a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker. Bill was an avid N.Y. Mets and Buffalo Bills fan, and a sports memorabilia collector. He enjoyed hiking, chess, playing congas, photography and playing baseball and football with the neighborhood kids. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir. Bill was an animal lover who was always befriending the neighborhood dogs. In addition to his beloved parents, Bill is the devoted father of Kristen (Ben) Truax, Shannon Costello, Brianne (Rick Maney) Costello and William J. "Billy" Costello, IV. He is the loving brother of Kathleen (Stan) Kroese, Patricia (Rich) Lyon, Michael Costello and Brian Costello. Bill is the uncle of Chelsea, Sandra, Crystal, Richard, Steven, Alex, Joey, James, Michael, Brandon and Zachary.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Delmar. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave).
