William A. Matice

Colonie- William Allen Matice died on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at home surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Schoharie, NY and was the son of the late Ellis and Ethel Matice. William served his country in the U.S. Army for 10 years and then served in the National Guard for 6 years. He was employed for several years at General Electric in Schenectady. He then went to work for the Watervliet Arsenal and most recently for Wackenhut Security.
William is survived by his loving wife Susan, whom he married on January 9th, 1982, and his five children, Earl Matice of East Durham, Mark Matice and his wife Pamela of Middleburg, Chad Matice of Guilderland, Alice Kennedy and her husband Ruben of Middleburg and Cassie Matice of Schenectady. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, four brothers, three sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday at 9:45 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). We will then proceed to the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, where a graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM. The family has requested that no flowers be sent.
