GUILDERLAND, NY – William A. Wiley, 79, passed away at home on Monday, November 09, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late William and Emma Wiley. He had resided in Guilderland for over 40 years. Bill was a U.S. Navy veteran serving his country during the Korean War. He had over thirty years of service with the U.S. Postal Service from where he retired. Mr. Wiley was a member of the Wadsworth Masonic Lodge, the National Association of Letter Carriers and more recently a friend of Bill W. Bill is the beloved husband of 50 years to Caroline (Carol) Wiley. He is the devoted father of William A. Wiley, Jr., Charles (Lori) Wiley and Robyn (Glenn) Lounsbury. He is the brother of Lorraine DeCesare. Bill is the cherished grandfather of Nicole, John and Gordon Wiley and Kaitlyn, Cooper and Sarah Lounsbury. Also surviving is his great-granddaughter, Abigayl Pyron.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
