William B. Daley, Jr.

November 9, 1921 — April 29, 2014

Albany – William "Bill" Bode Daley, Jr., 92, died at St. Peter's Hospital on April 29, 2014 after a short illness. Born in Albany, on November 9, 1921, he is the son of the late William B. Daley Sr. and Rhea Beyer Daley. He was educated in the Albany Public Schools, earned his Eagle Scout Badge and was a graduate of RPI with a degree in Civil Engineering. His father, also an RPI Civil Engineer, was the Chief Administrator of the PWA in the Capital Region during the Great Depression. William proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Marine Corps., 2nd Division. He served throughout the Pacific Theatre, including the invasion of Okinawa, Japan. William Jr., retired in 1988 after 35 years as Design Engineer in the NYS Office Of General Services. One of his many major projects, was the design and oversight of the Hudson River seawall on the Albany water front. He was an active communicant of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Albany. Funeral services for Bill will be held on Saturday May 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 107 State St., Albany. Interment will follow at Albany Rural Cemetery.
