ALBANY – William Skidmore Barrett, Jr., 73, passed away on Monday, August 07, 2006 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised and educated in Saratoga Springs. Bill was the son of the late William Skidmore Barrett, Esq. and Esther Trim Barrett. He attended Williams College, Class of 1955, Albany Law School and received a Master's of Divinity from Yale University. Bill was ordained an Episcopal priest in the diocese of Albany and served in many local parishes. More recently, he worked at Pearl Street Counseling Center where he loved and cherished his co-workers. Bill enjoyed horse racing and reading and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He leaves behind his adopted son, Andrew Mead Jennings and many loving friends. Special thanks are extended to Dr. J. Cooper, Dr. A. Sultan, and the staff of Community Hospice and the Regional ALS Center.
The body will be in repose at Grace and Holy Innocents Church, the corner of Clinton Avenue and Robin Street on Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday morning at 11:00 at the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Greenridge Cemetery, Saratoga. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Regional ALS Center, 19 Warehouse Row, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of William Skidmore Barrett, Jr.
