William Jacob Betz

Cohoes- William Jacob "Bill" Betz, 69, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Bill was the son of the late Jacob Betz and Ida Schenmeyer and was the devoted husband of 45 years to Pian "Linda" Betz.
Bill graduated from Albany High School in 1967. He served in the United States Air Force from 1968 - 1989 where he worked as an Aircraft Armaments Expert, Logistics Coordinator, Systems Maintenance Supervisor, Technical Library Manager, and Chief Systems Instructor. While he was deployed overseas he met the love of his life Pian in Thailand. They lived in Okinawa, in Japan, Griffiss Air Base, in Rome, NY, and South Carolina for a short period of time before settling in Upstate, NY. Bill was equal amounts of strong willed and happy-go-lucky. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Along with his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sister, Barbara J. Kohler.
A service will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Tuesday, November 13th, 2018 at 12:00 pm.
The family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill's name to a charity of your choice.
