Albany- On Wednesday, April 5, 2023 William C. "Dollar Bill" Bradley, 75, passed away peacefully at home lying next to his loving wife after days of being surrounded by his family. Bill bravely battled his illness with every fiber of his being. Born & raised in Albany, NY, Bill was a proud veteran who entered the service upon his 18th birthday. After his honorable discharge, Bill spent many years as a local bartender followed by a successful career as a Private Investigator w/ Probst Investigations working for the Rensselaer County Public Defender's Office.
Bill was predeceased by his parents William Bradley & Santa Lucia "Sadie" Carson. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Susan, his six children Billy, Lauren, Bobby (Nicole), Jessica (Todd), Brian (Kate) & Shannon, four beautiful grandchildren who he adored - Parker, Sloane, Joey & Sadie, his beloved brother, Philip (Ann) who he often referred to as "the best", his nephew David, his lovely grandniece Rachel & many more cherished relatives & friends.
Bill was a gifted storyteller with an uncanny ability to grab the attention of any room. He enjoyed telling jokes, having laughs & smoking the occasional cigar with friends. He was especially fond of Saratoga Race Track, vacationing on the ocean & overnight trips to Turning Stone Casino w/ the love of his life, Sue. Above all, the most important thing in life to Bill was his family. He lived his words "Family First" everyday enjoying the many family gatherings at his home that always included his Brother Phil's family and his Sister-in-law Pat Gerard (Pete.)
Calling hours will be held at New Comer, located at 343 New Karner Rd in Colonie on Wednesday, April 12 from 4–7pm. A Christian Religious Ceremony will be held at the same location on Thursday, April 13 at 10:30am. Entombment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands, New York.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be sent to The Albany Housing Coalition: Veterans Housing and Services (VHS).
